Here is an overview of what Alex Harrell shared with us on Saturday:
We all know the foot is the first structure that comes in contact with the ground when we walk or run, but how many of us consistently incorporate foot and ankle strengthening into our weekly training? While proper footwear is undoubtedly essential, resiliency of the foot and ankle joints goes beyond just having the right shoes. Strong foot alignment and stability help reduce the risk of injury and improve running efficiency and balance—key factors in training and race day performance. By focusing on strengthening these often-overlooked areas, we can enhance overall performance and reduce the likelihood of injury, setting ourselves up for long-term success.
